Emily Lee

Emily is a Senior Associate and the Regional Lead, APAC at BSA Legal Group. She is part of the Technology, Data Center and Digital Infrastructure Practice groups. She brings over 22 years of legal experience, including 16 years as in‑house counsel and more than 6 years as General Counsel, Asia at a leading multinational real estate and investment company.

Emily advises Data Center and digital infrastructure clients on structuring complex transactions, including joint ventures, shareholder arrangements, fund formation, and real estate acquisitions. She works closely with tax and accounting teams to structure investments for optimal commercial and financial outcomes.

In her previous role, Emily led multi‑disciplinary teams across legal, compliance, and company secretarial functions. Within compliance, she oversaw key policies such as Gifts & Entertainment, Conflicts of Interest, and Alcohol Consumption, and conducted training programs to enhance awareness of anti‑bribery and corruption regulations and internal governance policies.

Emily graduated from City University, London with an LL.B. (Hons) Second Class Honours (Upper Division) and completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Legal Skills (Bar Vocational Course) at the Inns of Court School of Law, London. She was called to the Bar of England & Wales at Gray’s Inn. In Malaysia, she is admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya and as an Advocate of the High Court in Sabah and Sarawak.

Emily is fluent in English, Malay, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
